Dunny 2010

Well, had to do my yearly duties and pick up a few blind boxes for the new Dunny series. Not a bad grouping of artists- missing one though. Heh heh heh. (What? I'm allowed to vent.) My good friend, Sket-One has a few really good Dunnies this series. The Dok-A steam punk inspired design was also interesting. The chases are a pretty interesting set, but not something i'm gonna scour ebay for. Either way, it's not bad. Have fun or customize them.

What did you think I was gonna do with the ones I don't keep?!

>:)

Icanhas Mekaneko?

Ok, this is pretty awesome. I admit I got into this figure late but the ARTOYZ exclusive version of the Mekaneko sports some very techno looking design patterns on its body. If you're familiar with some of my customs, you can see why I love this. It arrived today in an awesome box. Seriously, the packaging is great. It came with a booklet that featured artwork from Matteo de Longis and an awesome sticker sheet. I might have to order a second one for the hell of it.

Oh yeah... forgot...

Hey everyone. I forgot to show this custom toy. This was Steve Talkowski's Sketchbot that I modified and painted for MyPlasticHeart's show from last month. I had a great time working with this wonderful piece. Hope you like it.

WTF

Huh. LOOKS an awwwwwfffuuuullll lot like someone's lion dunny. Similar colors, similar steak accessory and composition but the EYES! It's VERY similar. I've been told that the base figure is from Disney's Vinylmation line. I love Disney but woah. Someone pointed out that this might be a custom figure, so I'm not sure. I'll have to look into this...

UPDATE: It was a custom. Was ready to break out the lawyers... and storm Cinderella's Castle.

Custom Sketchbot Show

Well I can openly say that I will be participating in Steve Talkowski's custom Sketchbot show. It's a great little original vinyl toy that Steve designed over the years. I will be making an appearance on opening night. Hope to see you all there too.

What?

Ok, ok. I know what you're gonna say, but HONESTLY, I'm not PLAYING WITH A BARBIE DOLL. I swear! This is one of HOT TOYS' Truetype Figures. I've been into HOT TOYS since their release of Appleseed's Deunan Knute and Briareos. I have to say that in this area of 1/6 scale figures, they really kicked Medicom and Takara's asses. Their attention to detail is one of their selling points. This Truetype figure is a "blank" figure, ready for customization. I figured I'd give it a shot and see what I can come up with. I'm not 100% fond of the face and the skin tone is darker than advertised- something I've noticed with their toys. I also don't like the fact I can see the joints. It seems less realistic but I suppose it works better under clothing. Yet another project for me to not finish! :)

OK so I brushed its hair with a small comb to straighten it... WHAT? Stop looking at me like that!

Knuckle up.

I've always loved Touma's Knuckle Bear. I never thought I would be customizing an 18" version of it! This will be my first show in the UK and I will be making a personal appearance! Get ready- CHUCKBOY is coming to the UK!!!

UPDATE:
Well I got screwed over by the crazy snow we had here in NYC and my flight to the UK was cancelled. I couldn't find a replacement flight so I had to drop out of the show. GODDAMMIT. I was rather excited about going to the UK. Next time, I guess... >:/

Staring at the stars.

I picked up these two from 123Klan recently. They're AWESOME. I love the design. I don't know why but they have a Daft Punk vibe, even though they don't look anything like the pair. I like Fellastar (Orange) more but I really dig the eyes of Megastar (Pink/Purple). I actually got a little confused and thought the Megastar from Artoyz was different and bought one from them but apparently it's the same as the one from 123Klan's store. Various posts and blogs on the internet made it seem like it's different. Ah well. This is what I get for jumping the gun. GUESS one's gonna get customized. AW YEAAAHHHHH...

Oh yeah. If you buy them directly from 123Klan, you get some awesome stickers and the boxes are signed by Scien and Klor!

New Year and a few things.

hi all,

sorry for not posting in a while. i have a few too many things going on at the same time.

i was going to have a new site but within a day or two of acquiring a server, it was hacked badly. rather than waste time, i decided to finish my site first before i dump the data onto a server. so for now, i still have my blog. many apologies.

munnyworld was a smash hit! my custom raffy and friends sold during the first day within five minutes of opening. guess who bought it??? PAUL BUDNITZ, founder of KIDROBOT! THANK YOU SO MUCH PAUL! :)

speaking of munnyworld, here's a clip of my crash interview with KR on youtube!

i have two custom shows coming up but i have not posted any official information in regard to them as a lot of information still up in the air. so until i get the green light to post more info about them, you'll just have to wait. i will say that one is here in NYC the other is in the UK!

i picked up a lot of KR's GLOOMY BEAR zipper pulls. they are awesome! the quality is great. i was very surprised by this but i am very happy with them. DO PICK UP SOME!

that's about it for now... working on a few customs. you'll see them soon! hope there's more great stuff from me in 2010!
